Under Armour unveils new Drive Pro shoes

Under Armour has unveiled its latest innovation in golf footwear: the Drive Pro series of golf shoes, developed with insights from three-time major champion Jordan Spieth. This new line promises to elevate your game by providing unparalleled stability, traction, and performance on the course.
The Drive Pro and Drive Pro SL models are engineered with an advanced feature known as the Swing Support System. This groundbreaking technology was created in collaboration with renowned biomechanist JJ Rivet and is designed to support the natural movement of your foot during a swing. With biomechanically optimized diagonal and lateral support, golfers can maximize their swing power while maintaining comfort. Under Armour Drive Pro Golf Shoes The Swing Support System incorporates three key advancements that enhance performance while keeping the shoe lightweight compared to traditional tour footwear. Starting from the ground up, these shoes feature innovative traction through a combination of Under Armour’s custom S3 Spikes and Tour Flex Pro Spike technology. Developed exclusively for Under Armour in partnership with CHAMP MacNeill Engineering, S3 Spikes are strategically placed at optimal angles on both the medial heel and lateral forefoot. This design minimizes rotation during your swing, allowing you to harness maximum power effectively. In terms of cushioning, UA introduces a unique dual-density midsole that stands out in golf footwear. It combines HOVR foam for softness with Charged Cushioning for added support where it matters most—helping guide your foot throughout your swing motion. The softer HOVR foam on the medial side allows your foot to sink into the shoe upon peak force application, facilitating smoother weight transitions through impact. Additionally, UA’s Swing Support Strap is fully integrated into both S3 Spikes and an advanced lacing system that provides 360-degree lock-in support from lateral ball contact all the way to medial instep engagement.

SPIKELESS OPTION

The Drive Pro SL model mirrors these innovations but features a spikeless outsole designed for versatility without sacrificing performance. Its traction control plate combined with a hybrid outsole made from rubber and TPU ensures excellent ground penetration while maintaining torsional rigidity thanks to TPU’s structural integrity; rubber adds flexibility and grip so you can perform at peak levels even without spikes. Every spikeless traction point has been meticulously mapped across various heights within the sole structure—this strategic design enhances overall performance by eliminating uniformity typically found in standard spiked designs. Jake Haley, Senior Product Line Manager for Golf Footwear at Under Armour stated: “We’re thrilled to kick off this year by launching industry-leading footwear aimed at helping golfers elevate their game significantly.” He emphasized that “the Drive Pro Series represents years of development,” expressing excitement about how golfers will respond when they experience these shoes on-course firsthand. Jordan Spieth himself shared his enthusiasm: “Being a golfer isn’t just about hitting balls; it’s about spending long hours walking courses.” He highlighted how crucial it is for players like him to have footwear that supports their bodies effectively throughout those demanding days spent on greens under varying conditions—“I’m ecstatic about what Under Armour has achieved with Drive Pro—it seamlessly blends comfort alongside style while enhancing performance.” The new Drive Pro Series is available now via UA.com as well as select golf retailers across the UK market—with retail prices set at £150 for standard models or £130 if opting for spikeless versions—all backed by an impressive one-year waterproof warranty ensuring durability against unpredictable weather elements encountered outdoors!
