TaylorMade launches Qi10 driver family

TaylorMade has unveiled its latest lineup of drivers, including the Qi10 Max, Qi10 LS, and Qi10 models, which they assert “unlocks a new frontier of forgiveness.” Notably, the Qi10 Max driver achieves an impressive total Moment of Inertia (MOI) of 10,000 g-cm²—an industry milestone that enhances performance for golfers at all levels.

In essence, a higher MOI translates to increased forgiveness. This means that when you strike the ball off-center, the clubhead experiences less rotation. As a result, it helps maintain ball speed on mis-hits and delivers more consistent launch conditions. The remarkable MOI achieved by the Qi10 Max is made possible through innovative lightweight materials and a reimagined head shape that strategically redistributes mass.

Brian Bazzel, TaylorMade’s Vice President of Product Creation stated: “We’re committed to breaking barriers and pushing innovation forward. From our first metalwood to our advanced 60X Carbon Twist Face technology, we continuously strive to exceed expectations. Reaching the 10K inertia mark is another significant achievement in TaylorMade’s legacy.”

Qi10 MAX Driver

The key to achieving optimal performance with a driver boasting a 10K MOI lies in integrating four essential technologies:

  • Advanced Construction with Infinity Crown: TaylorMade employs cutting-edge construction techniques that allow for strategic mass redistribution. This results in a deep and low center of gravity (CG), optimizing launch angles while maintaining high MOI. The new crown design covers an impressive 97% of the top surface for an aesthetically pleasing look.
  • Optimized Head Shape: The Qi10 Max features an elongated head shape from front-to-back with concentrated mass positioned at extreme limits from the CG. This unique design significantly contributes to enhancing clubhead inertia by allowing weight distribution further away from its center.
  • Carbon Face Technology: Utilizing third-generation 60X Carbon Twist Face®, this driver ensures rapid face response on center strikes while preserving ball speed even on mis-hits. A redesigned ledge supports this face positioning for optimal energy transfer during impact.
  • Torque-Control Shaft: Extensive research led to developing shafts with lower torque levels which promote improved face closure upon impact—an essential factor in achieving high MOI performance.

The retail price for the Qi10 Max is set at £499 and comes in loft options including 9° (RH/LH), 10.5° (RH/LH), and 12° (RH/LH). Each model features a versatile loft sleeve adjustable by +/-2°. Shaft choices include Fujikura Speeder NX TCS 50 (available in S/R/A flex) or Mitsubishi Diamana T+ 60 (offered in X/S/R flex). Additionally, there are women’s versions available at lofts of both 10.5° and 12°, equipped with Fujikura Speeder NX TCS 40 shafts as well as lightweight High & Light options suitable for custom fittings.

The Qi10 LS Driver

The Qi10 LS model is engineered specifically for players who possess faster swing speeds coupled with higher spin rates; it offers lower spin characteristics along with reduced launch angles thanks to its compact head shape featuring deeper faces—a preferred choice among many Tour athletes representing Team TaylorMade.

This model also incorporates TaylorMade’s innovative Infinity Crown technology which maximizes carbon fiber usage around the perimeter while aligning flush against the top edge of its face—this advancement allows significant weight savings leading towards better CG positioning critical for enhanced spin properties desired by players opting for this driver type.

A newly designed movable weight system includes an efficient single sliding steel weight weighing just18 grams housed within an advanced track system aimed at improving aerodynamics through reduced turbulence during swings—the adjustable feature allows movement farther forward/lower than previous iterations resulting ultimately into optimized inertia delivering forgiving low-spin experiences!

The suggested retail price stands at £529 available across various loft settings: 8°(RH), 9°(RH/LH), and lofts up-to 11°. Two shaft options are provided: Mitsubishi Tensei AV Limited Blue65(R/S/X) or Mitsubishi Tensei AV Limited Black65(S/X).

The Standard Model -Qi1O

This version aims primarily towards maximizing distance alongside providing exceptional forgiveness wrapped within sleek aesthetics designed instilling confidence amongst golfers regardless their skill level! It boasts lower CG projection combined alongside higher-MOI compared against prior models ensuring optimum blend between distance & accuracy!

A slightly larger address profile paired together cleanly styled Infinity Carbon Crown plus contrasting topline enhances alignment aiding visual cues inspiring trust throughout every swing executed! Furthermore re-engineered sixty-X carbon twist-face proves lighter than traditional titanium promoting efficient energy transfer supported via structural enhancements yielding faster ball speeds whilst preserving velocity even when struck off-center!
