TaylorMade Golf Introduces New Penta Golf Balls

TaylorMade Unveils Penta TP5 with Softer Core

TaylorMade Golf recently launched two new additions to its golf ball line, including an upgrade to the popular five-layer Penta TP ball. The new version, known as the Penta TP5, features a softer core with 28-percent lower compression. This design aims to reduce driver spin for increased distance and a softer feel on impact.

According to John Kawaja, TaylorMade’s executive vice president, the TP5 also boasts a faster outer mantle and thin urethane cover that provide optimal spin control in the scoring zone. This feature benefits players with slower swing speeds by enhancing their ability to achieve precision shots while maintaining distance.

Kawaja emphasizes that while the TP5 was designed for tour professionals, it is suitable for players of all skill levels. TaylorMade expects many of its tour staff members, such as Dustin Johnson and Jason Day, to switch to the new TP5 model.

New Addition: Penta TP3 Offers Tour-Caliber Performance

In addition to the upgraded TP5 model, TaylorMade introduced a brand-new golf ball under the Penta name: the TP3. Described as “tour caliber,” this ball is specifically engineered to enhance spin on iron and wedge shots.

The Penta TP3 features a cast thermoset urethane cover and incorporates TaylorMade’s REACT core technology. Unlike its predecessor, this three-piece construction offers increased spin control at an affordable price point.

Kawaja explains that golfers have diverse needs when it comes to equipment selection. The added spin from the TP3 allows for improved shot control across various skill levels while maintaining impressive distance off the tee.

TaylorMade’s latest additions cater to both professional players seeking advanced performance features and recreational golfers looking for enhanced control without compromising distance on their shots.
