TaylorMade Tour Van Makes a Stop in Grand Blanc, Michigan for the 2008 Buick Open
Back to Back Victory at the Buick Open
Last week, Grand Blanc, Michigan was buzzing with excitement as the TaylorMade Tour Van parked for the 2008 Buick Open. The team was hoping for a back-to-back win and they got just that with Kenny Perry’s victory on Sunday. It was a great finish to a busy week for the TaylorMade Tour Department.
Introducing the New Burner Fairway Wood and Rescue
The theme of the week in the trailer was all about showcasing the new Burner Fairway Wood and Rescue. Launched this week, these clubs feature Dual Crown technology which saves weight in the clubhead to lower the center of gravity (CG) and promote more carry and distance. Wade, lead Technician on tour van, mentioned that they had just received these clubs last week and have been receiving a lot of interest from players with great feedback.
New Builds on Display
The look of these heads follows suit with the Tour Burner driver trend. The fast-looking Burner head shape allows for a deep CG location, providing forgiveness and easier launch for both weekend players and tour professionals alike. Some notable players who have already adopted these new clubs include Peter Lonard, Kenny Perry, Briny Baird, Gavin Coles, Carlos Franco, JP Hayes, Jay Williamson among others.
Latest Driver Models Take Center Stage
New drivers were also making waves this week with 24 Tour Burner drivers in play once again earning them top spot as No. 1 Driver model choice among players.
Z TP Wedges Remain Popular Choice
On the wedge front, Z TP continues to be favored by many players including Jay Williamson Peter Lonard Dustin Johnson Martin Laird who all requested this particular wedge model.
Behind-the-Scenes Action at TaylorMade Tour Van
During our visit to Grand Blanc last week we witnessed firsthand how busy it gets inside TaylorMade’s tour van. Technicians were hard at work building new prototypes and assembling latest offerings from TaylorMade for their staffers. There were even new prototype Z TP wedges available onboard offering different loft options allowing tour players to experiment before deciding on their preferred setup.
Overall it was an exciting experience watching bending grinding assembly taking place right before our eyes inside TayloMades fast-paced tour van environment.
