Revisiting the First show: “The Approach”

In anticipation of Golf channel’s 25th Anniversary on January 17, the network is set to re-air its very first show, “The Approach,” on Wednesday, January 15. This historic episode from 1995 marked the begining of Golf Channel’s groundbreaking 24-hour coverage of golf and introduced viewers to what would become a staple in sports television.

The highlights from “The Approach” include an interview with the network’s founders Arnold Palmer and Joe Gibbs,live golf coverage from Disney World LPGA Health South inaugural,an interview with Colin Montgomerie,and introductions to key figures like Kraig Kann,Jennifer Mills,Tom Nettles,and Mike Ritz. Additionally, viewers were treated to features like The Golf Channel Academy with legends such as Arnold Palmer, Dave Pelz, and David Leadbetter.
