Kisner shared that he injured his left ankle while attempting box jumps. Reflecting on the incident, he humorously admitted, “Trying to be an athlete, just remembered I’m not.” The mishap occurred when his toe caught the box during a jump, leading him to realize that wearing shoes a size too small may have contributed to the accident.

Despite the ankle injury, Kisner had his ankle taped for Round 1 and showcased remarkable play on the course. He birdied seven out of eight holes starting at No. 16 and finished with a score of 6-under 66, placing him tied for third at Sherwood country Club.
