Marshall Reports Moving Ball Incident

Britain’s Mark Roe has been disqualified from the Tournament Players Championship of Europe after a marshall reported that he had putted a moving ball during a bizarre flurry of putts.
Roe’s playing-partners Soren Kjeldsen of Denmark and Frenchman Jean-Francois Remesy claimed they did not notice him hit a moving ball. However, two caddies in the group confirmed the incident.
Despite not adding any penalty for playing the moving ball, officials deemed Roe to have signed for a wrong score and subsequently disqualified him.
During yesterday’s first round, Roe was level-par after 14 holes but encountered trouble on the sixth green where he six-putted. This led to him finishing with a disappointing six-over-par 78.
This is not the first time Roe has faced disqualification. Last year at the British Open, he was sensationally disqualified alongside partner Jesper Parnevik due to signing incorrect cards after a mix-up following the third round when Roe was in contention.
The long-standing European pro will now have to regroup and focus on future tournaments following this latest setback.
