PGA Professional Craig Trower’s Cancer Battle and Road to Recovery
## A Life-Saving Diagnosis at St George’s Hospital
PGA Professional Craig Trower, co-owner of the Pro Am Tour, faced a life-threatening cancer diagnosis during the Covid-19 pandemic. After experiencing severe abdominal pains, he was admitted to St George’s hospital in south London. A CT scan revealed a stage 3 cancerous growth on one of his kidneys, leading to the immediate removal of the kidney.
Grateful for Support and Advice
Two months post-operation, Craig is feeling healthy and grateful for the support from family and friends. He credits fellow professional golfer Benn Barham for valuable advice, as Benn had also overcome a similar illness in 2011. Inspired by his experience, Craig aims to raise awareness about early testing and diagnosis of cancer.
Raising Awareness Through JustGiving
Craig has set up a JustGiving page to raise funds for Cancer Research UK. He emphasizes the importance of early detection in improving prognosis rates. With plans for regular check-ups over the next five years, he remains focused on promoting awareness while managing his responsibilities with the Pro-Am Tour.
